WASHINGTON, Sept. 27, 2010 – USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service continues to ramp up Bioenergy Market News Reports with the recent addition of the National Biomass Energy Report.

“This report complements the growing need for price information in the biofuel industry, and adds to the growing list of reports released by Market News,” said Rayne Pegg, AMS Administrator.

The new National Biomass Energy Report details low-quality forage, roughage and stover prices used in ethanol or energy plants.

The Biomass reports include data from information collected by Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Oregon and Washington. These forages can be used to generate income from the sale of biomass materials for the production of heat, power, bio-based products or biofuels.

The portfolio of Bioenergy Market News Reports containing bioenergy information can aid producers, consumers and distributors in the sale and purchase of their products nationally and internationally.
