Programs & Offices

Cotton & Tobacco Program

Supporting the efficient marketing of U.S. Cotton through classification, standardization and market news in addition to providing inspection, grading and market news information for tobacco.

Dairy Program

To facilitate the efficient marketing of milk and dairy products.

Livestock, Poultry and Seed Program

Administering a wide range of programs related to the livestock, meat, poultry, egg, fish, grain, and seed industries, as well as regulatory and support functions that extend to other commodities.

National Organic Program

Responsible for developing & enforcing national standards for organically-produced agricultural products.

Science & Technology Program

Providing scientific and analytical support services to the agricultural community to improve the quality and marketing of agricultural products.

Specialty Crops Program

Facilitating the strategic marketing of fruit, vegetable, nuts and specialty crops in domestic and international markets, while ensuring fair trading practices and promoting a competitive and efficient marketplace.

Transportation & Marketing Program

Supporting local and regional food systems and providing economic analysis on agricultural transportation from farm to markets.

The People's Garden

Helping establish community and school gardens across the country that are collaborative, benefit the community and incorporate sustainable practices.

USDA Farmers Market

Celebrating 20 years of being a "living laboratory" for local food systems and providing the Washington, D.C. residents with fresh healthy food.
