USDA Announces Designations to Provide Official Services Under the U.S. Grain Standards Act
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced the following agencies are designated to provide official services at non-export port locations in specified geographic areas under delegated authority of the United States Grain Standards Act (USGSA):
Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee: Ohio Valley Grain Inspection
Illinois and Iowa: Keokuk Grain Inspection Service
USDA Announces Approved Instruments for Beef Grading
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced the approval of three new vision grading instruments for use in its beef grading program.
USDA Approves Mushroom Assessment Increase
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced it approved an assessment increase under the Mushroom Promotion, Research and Consumer Information Program. On July 10, 2025, the Mushroom Council voted unanimously to recommend the assessment increase.
AMS Issues Notice Announcing 2025-2026 Grain Inspection and Weighing Fees
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced the 2025-2026 fee schedule for official inspection and weighing services, supervision of official inspection and weighing services, and miscellaneous fees for other services performed under the U.S. Grain Standards Act. The fee schedule will be effective October 1, 2025.

AMS Seeks Comments on Proposal to Terminate Master Scale Testing Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is proposing to eliminate the Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) master scale testing program, effective Sept. 30, 2025. Before finalizing this action, FGIS is seeking public input via the Federal Register notice, published on Aug. 19, 2025.
USDA Announces Availability of New Agricultural Transportation Dashboard and Data
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced the launch of a new dashboard, U.S. Grain Rail Exports to Mexico, and new datasets containing rail tariff rates for domestic grain transportation and for export to Mexico.
Pre-Solicitation Announcement for Section 32 Purchase of Canned Peaches
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase Canned Peaches for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935 (Section 32).
Potential materials may include:
