Executive Order 14224 (March 6, 2025) designated English as the official language of the United States. The Department of Justice issued Memorandum 140776 (July 14, 2025) that outlines implementation of EO 14224. AMS will be revising its Language Access Plan in accordance with this memorandum and USDA policy.

USDA is committed to strengthening its services and programs by ensuring that individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) receive meaningful access to USDA’s federally conducted and federally assisted programs and activities in accordance with Executive Order 14224.

- Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 USC 2000d to 2000d-6 at 7 CFR 15) prohibits discrimination based on race, color and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.
