FVIAC Working Groups

The FVIAC currently has four Working Groups – Food Safety; Labor & Production; Consumption; and Climate & Infrastructure. These working groups meet regularly between public meetings to develop recommendations and discussion documents for the full FVIAC’s consideration. 

Food Safety: Put forth recommendations for consideration by the full Committee on fruit and vegetable issues regarding food safety, audit, inspections, and standardization.

Labor & Production: Put forth recommendations for consideration by the full Committee on issues such as crop insurance, supporting the fruit & vegetable industry during natural disasters, creating more resilient food supply chains, and other matters related to labor and production issues.

Consumption: Put forth recommendations for consideration by the full Committee that aim to increase the overall consumption of fruits & vegetables in the United States, along with recommendations related to promoting domestically produced fruits & vegetables.

Climate & Infrastructure: Put forth recommendations for consideration by the full Committee on how policies and programs pertaining to infrastructure investment and carbon sequestration could work for the fruit & vegetable industry.
