FVIAC Working Groups

The FVIAC currently has four Working Groups – Food Safety; Labor; Trade; and Production. These working groups meet regularly between public meetings to develop recommendations and discussion documents for the full FVIAC’s consideration. 

Food Safety: Put forth recommendations and position statements for consideration by the full Committee on fruit and vegetable issues regarding food safety, audit, inspections, and standardization.

Labor: Deliver thoughtful and clear agricultural labor recommendations and statements to the Secretary which intend to preserve the survival & sustainability of US fruit and vegetable production.

Trade: Put forth recommendations that seek to protect domestic farmers, ranchers, handlers and processors and to provide opportunities for sustained global competitiveness.

Production: Put forth recommendations that seek to remove barriers associated with research; crop insurance; overspray, and off target chemical applications from neighboring operations; and agrichemical labels that are not clearly written nor uniform in referencing specialty crops
