USDA Commodity Specific Audit Programs
AMS Specialty Crops Inspection (SCI) Division provides oversight for commodity specific audits performed to satisfy the requirements of the California Cantaloupe Advisory Board. These voluntary, independent audits are performed throughout all aspects of cantaloupe production operations.
California Cantaloupe Advisory Board
The California Cantaloupe Advisory Board (CCAB) was formed to provide a systematic approach to managing cantaloupe product safety in order to minimize the risk of cantaloupe-related foodborne illnesses in California-grown cantaloupe. CCAB membership requires verification of compliance with the accepted food safety practices through mandatory government audits.
