USDA Seeks Nominees for Christmas Tree Promotion Board

The Christmas Tree Promotion Board is a research and promotion program that provides the Christmas tree industry with consumer information, conducts research, educates the public, and brings people together from all corners of the industry to collectively work towards improving demand for real Christmas trees in the United States.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the board to fill seats for four members for three-year terms, beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Nomination applications are due by June 1, 2025. 

Tart Cherry Producers Vote to Amend the Federal Marketing Order

The Cherry Industry Administrative Board administers the marketing order which authorizes implementation of research and promotion programs, quality requirements, and regulation of the flow of product to market.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that tart cherry producers and processors voted to amend their marketing order program in a referendum held Aug. 26 through Sept. 16, 2024.

USDA Seeks Nominees for California Almond Board

The Almond Board of California administers the marketing order which authorizes quality regulations, research and promotion programs, and regulation of the flow of product to market. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for seats on the board.  Candidate declarations are due by April 1, 2025, and the voting period is April 21 through May 22, 2025.

Oregon and Washington Hazelnut Producers Vote to Continue the Federal Marketing Order

The Hazelnut Marketing Board administers the marketing order which authorizes implementation of research and promotion programs, quality requirements, and regulation of the flow of product to market. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that hazelnut producers in Oregon and Washington voted to continue their marketing order program in a referendum held Oct. 28 through Nov. 18, 2024. 

USDA Seeks Nominees for California Walnut Board

The California Walnut Board is a marketing order program authorized to set quality regulations, research, promotion and programs for walnuts produced in California.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the board to fill seats for nine members and nine alternates for two-year terms, beginning September 1, 2025. Nomination ballots are due by May 16, 2025.

The board is seeking nominees for the following seats:

District 1: All walnut producing counties in California in or north of San Mateo, Alameda, San Joaquin, Calaveras and Alpine counties.

AMS Releases Updated Draft Directive Concerning the FGIS-FDA Memorandum of Understanding and Requests Comment

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today released a draft revision of FGIS Directive 9060.2, “Implementation of the FGIS-FDA Memorandum of Understanding,” to reflect updated processes in reporting contaminated lots of grain to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The draft directive is available on the AMS website.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the Mushroom Council to fill three seats for three-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Nomination applications are due to the council by May 1, 2025.
