Executive Summary  Working with the Colorado (CO) Department of Agriculture, the CO Department of Human Services (CDHS) will procure CO produced food products, focused on socially disadvantaged producers, packing, transportation and distribution to Coloradans in need of nutritional support due to financial hardship.

LFPA Executive Summary - Alabama

The purpose of our project is to create a successful collaboration of distinct but critical parts of the local food system to increase supply, distribution, and demand of specialty crops grown by socially disadvantaged farmers/producers within rural, remote, or underserved communities throughout Alabama. The Alabama Department of Agriculture (ADAI) will purchase food directly from socially disadvantaged farmers.

Pre-Solicitation Announcement for the Section 32 Purchase of Fresh Vegetables (Sweet Potatoes)

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase Fresh Vegetables (Sweet Potatoes) for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, with the purpose to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.

USDA Extends Deadline for Public Input to Identify Competition Challenges in Seed, Fertilizer, Other Agricultural Inputs, and Retail Markets

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announces a 30-day extension to the public comment period to identify the impacts of concentration and competition challenges in seed, fertilizer, other agricultural inputs, and retail markets. The new deadline is June 15, 2022.

Three RFIs (requests for information) were published in the Federal Register on March 17, 2022, each with a 60-day comment period ending May 16, 2022.
