The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will purchase and provided unprocessed or minimally processed local and regional food products via a collaboration with Fresh Food Wyoming L3C. This organization will collaborate with WDE to facilitate the purchase and distribution of local/regional food products to Wyoming School Food Authorities (SFAs) that participate in the National School Lunch Program.
Fresh Food Wyoming L3C currently operates as a distributor of local and reginal agriculture products that are produced from Wyoming and Rocky Mountain Regional farmers, producers and processors. WDE will facilitate the purchase of local and regional foods by informing all SFAs that Fresh Food Wyoming L3C is collaborating with the WDE. This organization will provide the products, distribution, transportation, and storage of fresh, unprocessed, or minimally processed local and regional foods to Wyoming SFAs with the WDE LFS grant paying all costs.
