AMS Seeks Comment on Proposed Updates to the AMS List of Bioengineered Foods
As part of its annual update to the List of Bioengineered Foods (the List), the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) invites public comment on a proposed rule to make two changes to the List in accordance with the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard (the Standard). The Standard requires AMS develop and update the List to identify Bioengineered products that are approved for production and in commercial production somewhere in the world.
LFPA Executive Summary – Idaho
Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) will utilize the LFPA grant to establish new partnerships with socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers (SDFRs) and producers throughout Idaho and the neighboring states (within 400 miles). These new SDFR partnerships will supplement gaps in donated foods by providing seasonal, fresh commodities to Idaho’s established network of food pantries, schools, and other organizations that reach underserved communities.
USDA Appoints Members to National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of seven members to serve on the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board. Six of the seven appointees will serve three-year terms, effective immediately through June 30, 2025. The other appointee will serve the remaining year of a vacant position, effective immediately and expiring June 30, 2023.
The newly appointed members are:
Lynne Bohan, Lynnfield, Massachusetts (Region 1);
Pat Boyle, Dallas, Texas (Region 4);
Brad Gruen, Chicago, Illinois (Region 7);
Decreased Assessment Rate: Pork Promotion, Research, and Consumer Information Order
