USDA Market News Proposes to Redefine Cotton Spot Markets for Reporting
Based on an industry request, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) evaluated the structure of the cotton spot markets in East and West Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) is a candidate for the USDA Local Food for Schools Cooperative Agreement Program. If awarded, ODE will receive $2 million dollars that sponsors participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) can use for reimbursement of Oregon grown, raised and processed food, much like the ODE State Farm to School grant that is currently in operation. USDA Seeks Nominees for the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominees for the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board. The deadline for nominations is April 28, 2023.
From the nominees, the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint thirteen individuals to succeed members whose terms expire on October 31, 2023. Newly appointed members will serve three-year terms from November 1, 2023, through October 31, 2026. The Secretary of Agriculture will also appoint one individual to fill a vacancy, with the term ending October 31, 2024.
Forest County Potawatomi Community
The Forest County Potawatomi Community (“FCPC” or “Tribe”), a Federally Recognized Tribe, will distribute approximately 4,500 food boxes to Native Americans in Forest County, Wisconsin and surrounding counties. The project will also support additional food distributions to tribal elders through Feeding Wisconsin’s Tribal Elder Food Box Program.
