USDA Announces $18.4 Million in Grants Awarded to the Dairy Business Innovation Initiatives Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the Dairy Business Innovation Initiatives grant program has awarded $18.4 million to the initiatives at the University of Tennessee, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets and the University of Wisconsin.
USDA Launches A Resource Hub on Local Food System Response to COVID-19
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the launch of a hub designed to assist local and regional food producers as USDA and its partners develop, share and assess resources on local and regional food system responses to COVID-19. The Local Food System Response to COVID Resource Hub was created through USDA’s cooperative agreement with the University of Kentucky, Colorado State University and Pennsylvania State University.
USDA Sets Referendum Dates for Mango Research and Promotion Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced today that, as required by statute, it will conduct a referendum for eligible first handlers and importers of mangos to vote on whether to continue the Mango Promotion, Research and Information Order and whether to continue provisions that include frozen mangos. The referendum will be held Sept. 21 - Oct. 9, 2020.
USDA Swiss Cheese Purchase Program Announced
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase Swiss Cheese for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, with the purpose to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.
