USDA Sets Referendum Dates for Paper and Paper-Based Packaging Research and Promotion Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced today that, as required by statute, it will conduct a referendum for eligible manufacturers and importers of paper and paper-based packaging to vote on whether to continue the Paper and Paper-Based Packaging Promotion, Research and Information Order. The referendum will be held Oct. 12-23, 2020.

USDA Cattle and Carcass Training Centers

the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) established three regional Cattle and Carcass Grading Correlation Training Centers (aka Cattle and Carcass Training Centers, or just Training Centers) in cooperation with the University of Nebraska – Lincoln , Colorado State University, and West Texas A&M University. The purpose of these Centers is to collaborate with industry and academia in providing educational and training opportunities to stakeholders interested in the official quality grading of feeder cattle, fed cattle, and beef carcasses in the United States.

Paper and Paper-Based Packaging Promotion, Research and Information Order: Continuance Referendum

Dates: This referendum will be conducted by express mail and electronic ballot from October 12, 2020, through October 23, 2020. Persons who domestically manufactured and imported 100,000 short tons or more of paper and paper-based packaging during the representative period from January 1 through December 31, 2019, are eligible to vote in the referendum. Ballots delivered to AMS via express mail or email must show proof of delivery by no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on October 23, 2020.
