USDA Appoints Members to National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced the appointment of seven members to serve on the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board. Six of the seven appointees will serve three-year terms, effective immediately, through June 30, 2023. The other appointee will serve the remaining two-year portion of a vacant position, effective immediately, and expiring June 30, 2022.

The newly appointed members are:

Monica Massey, Kansas City, Missouri (Region 2);

USDA Seeks Comments on Establishing a Pecan Promotion, Research and Information Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced that it is seeking comments on a proposal for a new national Pecan Promotion, Research and Information Order.

A 17-member board would administer the proposed order. The board would be responsible for carrying out activities including plans and projects regarding promotion, research, information and education to help maintain and expand markets for pecans.

USDA Updates the Procedures for Instrument Enhanced Grading for Beef Carcasses

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is updating the procedures for the Instrument Enhanced Grading program for beef carcass grading as outlined in Quality Assessment Division (QAD) 511. These updated procedures, effective September 21, 2020, state the requirements for establishments that wish to use plant personnel to apply USDA’s Beef Grading Standards using approved instrument technology.

USDA Updates Export Verification Procedures for the USDA Quality Systems Verification Programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) remains committed to keeping our clients informed about changes to procedures directly affecting the USDA Export Verification Programs.

The AMS Livestock and Poultry Program recently revised two procedures which are now available on the AMS Export Verification website.
