USDA Seeks Nominees for the Kiwifruit Administrative Committee

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the Kiwifruit Administrative Committee to fill seats for six members and six alternates. Two seats will be appointed for one-year terms, and ten seats will be appointed for two-year terms, all beginning Aug. 1, 2026. Nominations for all positions must be submitted to the Kiwifruit Administrative Committee postmarked no later than April 24, 2026. 

The committee is seeking nominees for growers for the following areas:

GROWERS

  • District 2 – Tulare county; three members and three alternates (one member and alternate seat will be subject to a one-year term).
  • District 3 – Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Placer and Santa Clara counties; three members and three alternates.

To qualify, nominate, and vote as a grower member, nominees must be engaged in a proprietary capacity in the production of kiwifruit in California.

The committee is comprised of 12 members. Eleven members represent growers from three districts, and one serves as a public member. More information about the committee is available on the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) California Kiwifruit webpage. 

Authorized by the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937, marketing orders are industry-driven programs that help growers and handlers achieve marketing success by using their own funds to design and execute programs that they would not be able to do individually. AMS provides oversight to fruit, vegetable, and specialty crops marketing orders and agreements to help ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.
