On November 4, 2024, the Office of the Secretary and the Agricultural Marketing Service Commodity Procurement Program held a virtual meeting to discuss kosher and halal commodity purchase programs.
This meeting provided industry an opportunity to hear about the vendor approval process, how to submit bids, new product consideration and other technical assistance. The industry will also hear directly from the Food and Nutrition Service on certifications for kosher and halal products as well as the direction of their programs.
