Disease Free Statement – Israel (November 01, 2023) (pdf)
Ineligible Products
Consult the Shell Egg Export Restrictions Dashboard prior to certifying any shipments.
Prerequisites
All Policy and General Procedures Requirements listed in General Export Certification must be met unless otherwise noted in this webpage.
Purpose
This instruction outlines specific certification requirements for shell eggs for further processing only as prescribed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for Israel.
General Procedures
Plant Listing Requirement
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for Israel maintains an independent list of all eligible US shell egg facilities. USDA-AMS must submit changes directly to IVSAH as they occur. A complete list of all official USDA shell egg facilities was submitted on November 1, 2023. Any facilities seeking to export shell eggs to Israel that inaugurated AMS grading service, or who made changes to their information on the AMS Plant Query Site after this date must contact the National Office to confirm eligibility prior to certification.
Grading Requirements
The shell eggs must be graded and certified as U.S. Grade A or better, as outlined in the United States Standards, Grades, and Weight Classes for Shell Eggs (AMS 56).
Packing Case Labeling
Each case must be identified with:
- The official plant name and plant number
- Country of origin
- Description of product (eggs)
- Egg size
- Laying date, date of packaging (lot code), and expiration date
- A statement that the eggs are intended “For Further Processing Only”
Duration of Quality (Expiration Dating)
Expiration dating is mandatory. The duration of quality (expiration dating) must follow the instructions in the General Export Certification Requirements.
Transport Unit
The transport unit must be sealed prior to departure. The grader must be present during the sealing of the container and must observe the seal number that will be documented on the LP-210S. If more than one container and/or seal is used from the time of loading at the processing facility until departure from a U.S. port, management must provide all physical seals to the grader. The grader physically observe all seals to be used, and ensure these numbers are recorded on the Form LP-210S. It is the responsibility of the exporter to forward on the subsequent seals with the export documentation for application at the port.
Certification
The lot number documented on the certificate (Form LP-210S) shall be the Julian date of production.
When completing the certificate (Form LP-210S) the following information must be included in the “Description” section:
- Under “Where Held and Temperature,” the temperature of both the cooler in which the eggs are held and the transport unit used for the shipment must be documented.
The following information must be included in the “Remarks” section:
- The statement “The poultry eggs included with this shipment are fit for human consumption.”
