The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the appointment of four members to the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Grain Inspection Advisory Committee. The newly appointed members will serve three-year terms, from Feb. 1, 2023, to Jan. 31, 2026.
Newly appointed members include:
- Shayleen M. Rambur, vice president and CA general manager, J.D. Heiskell & Company, Tulare, Calif.
- Charles R. Hurburgh, Ph.D., professor, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa
- Mark A. Heil, general manager, Prairie Central Cooperative Inc, Chenoa, Ill.
- Kia M. Adams-Mikesh, owner and vice president, North Dakota Grain Inspection Service Inc, Walcott, N.D.
Established under the U.S. Grain Standards Act on Sept. 29, 1981, the advisory committee represents the interests of all segments of the U.S. grain industry from producer to exporter. The committee is comprised of 15 members representing grain processors, merchandisers, handlers, exporters, consumers, grain inspection agencies and scientists.
AMS seeks nominations annually via announcements on the Federal Register and news releases to industry, trade, academia, community and faith-based organizations.
