Commodity Testing Laboratory
FGIS’s Commodity Testing Laboratory performs analysis of nutritional and deleterious substances in Corn Soy Blend (CSB) samples on behalf of the Farm Service Agency (FSA). FSA contracts with numerous vendors to manufacture CSB for use in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Title II Food for Peace Program. The CTL performs over twenty-two different analyses on these products according to the specifications and issue sample certificates. FSA establishes the contract specifications, and, if a product does not meet the specifications, then FSA does not purchase the product.
