Order Authority and Regulations
The marketing order authorizes quality regulations and container and pack regulations for potatoes grown in Washington State. The order went into effect on September 27, 1949, and last amended under formal rulemaking on July 18, 2005. View the full regulation.

Quality Regulations: The marketing order authorizes grade, quality, maturity, and size regulations to maintain potato quality shipped to consumers.

Markings, pack, and container regulations: The marketing order authorizes regulations on the marking or labeling, size, capacity, and weight of the containers used to ship potatoes to market.
Committee Structure
The Washington Potato Committee administers the order locally and consists of six producers, three handlers and their alternates. Committee membership is apportioned among the three districts within the production area. Members serve 3-year, staggered terms of office that begin July 1. Members are nominated at nomination meetings or by mail, which is then followed by mail balloting. View a list of members & alternates.
