The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee (FVIAC) will meet in-person April 19-20, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is organizing the meeting – which is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
USDA to Host Educational Events at USDA Cattle and Carcass Training Centers and Introduces New Center
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will host three educational events focused on animal handling and its effects on the quality, yield, and market value of cattle, the CME live cattle specifications, and emerging technology in the cattle industry as part of its ongoing outreach conducted by the USDA Cattle and Carcass Training Centers (Training Center). One of the events will be hosted by the newly established Training Center at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in Lincoln, Neb.
Pre Solicitation Announcement for Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) Purchase of Vegetable Products
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase commercially available Mixed Vegetable-Can sizes 12/29 oz and 12/15 oz, Low Sodium Collard Greens-Can 12/14 oz and Green Bean-Can 12/14.5 oz for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 5 of the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) Charter Act.
