USDA Seeks Cotton Board Nominees

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) seeks nominations of domestic cotton producers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and importers of cotton and cotton-containing products for positions on the Cotton Board. The producers and importers will fill positions for 18 members and 18 alternates. USDA will appoint members and alternates to serve three-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2023, to Dec. 31, 2025.

USDA Seeks Nominees for the American Egg Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominees for the American Egg Board (Board) to fill 10 member and nine alternate member vacancies. One appointed member will serve a one-year term due to a resignation and the remaining nine members and nine alternate members will serve two-year terms beginning March 2023 and ending March 2025. The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 5, 2022.

USDA Approves Certain LED Lights for Official Inspection and Weighing of Grain

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service has approved the use of certain LED lights for use in the U.S. Official Grain Inspection and Weighing System beginning May 26, 2022.

The Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) reports that its evaluation of LED technology finds it statistically equal to existing fluorescent lamp technology currently utilized in the Official Grain Inspection System.
