USDA Proposes Modifications to Kiwifruit Marketing Order
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today a proposal to modify the handling regulations prescribed under the federal marketing order for kiwifruit grown in California. The proposed rule was published on June 17, 2022 in the Federal Register and provides a 60-day public comment period. Comments are due by August 16, 2022.

USDA Announces National Pork Board Appointments
The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the appointment of six members to the National Pork Board. Five appointees will serve three-year terms beginning June 2022 and ending June 2025, and one appointee will serve a one-year term from June 2022 through June 2023.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase almonds for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.
