The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced publication of two proposed rules to amend the federal marketing order for California almonds. The proposed rules are published separately in the Federal Register, each with a public comment period. The marketing order, administered by the Almond Board of California, authorizes quality regulation, research and promotion programs, and volume controls for almonds grown in California.

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice announces the Agricultural Marketing Service's (AMS) intention to request approval from the Office of Management and Budget for a new information collection related to livestock production practices under the USDA organic regulations.
