USDA Announces Hearing on Walnut Marketing Order Amendments to be Held Online

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced today that the public hearing on proposed amendments to the federal marketing order for California walnuts will be held April 19-20, 2022. AMS will conduct the hearing using the ZOOM audio-video conferencing platform to enable individuals to participate in the hearing remotely.

USDA Announces Intent to Reestablish Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee Charter, Seeks Nominees

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it intends to renew the charter of the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee (FVIAC). It is also seeking nominations from specialty crop stakeholders to serve on the FVIAC. The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2022.

USDA Seeks U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council Nominees

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominations for the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council to fill seats for 12 members and their alternates whose three-year terms will expire Dec. 31, 2025; and two exporter members and their alternates whose two-year terms will expire Dec. 31, 2024. Nomination applications are due to the council by April 29, 2022.

USDA Seeks Nominees for the National Peanut Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominations for the National Peanut Board to fill seats for six members and alternates whose three-year terms of office will expire on Dec. 31, 2022 and for the at-large member and alternate seat positions whose terms will expire Dec. 31, 2024. Nominations must be submitted to USDA by May 2, 2022.
