The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is providing an additional 60 days for public comment on the proposed rule published in the Federal Register on October 5, 2020, that would amend the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order under the Commodity Promotion, Research, and Information Act of 1996.

Summary

This proposed rule would implement a recommendation from the Prune Marketing Committee (Committee) to increase the assessment rate established for the 2020-21 and subsequent crop years. The proposed assessment rate would remain in effect indefinitely unless modified, suspended, or terminated.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will host a series of three live educational webinars about USDA’s Livestock Mandatory Reporting (LMR) Program over three consecutive days in June 2021. The free webinars, which will begin on Tuesday, June 8, and continue through Thursday, June 10, 2021, will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Central Time each day. The webinars are part of USDA’s ongoing outreach to the cattle industry conducted by its Cattle and Carcass Training Centers (CCTC).
