The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (GTB) in partnership with the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency Inc. - Northwest Food Coalition (NFC), Goodwill Northern Michigan Food Rescue (Food Rescue), and Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, will address food insecurity in a 7-county area of Northwest Lower Michigan (Antrim, Grand Traverse, Benzie, Leelanau, Charlevoix, Manistee and Kalkaska).

USDA Announces Producers of Pistachios in California, Arizona, and New Mexico Vote to Continue the Federal Marketing Order
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that producers of pistachios in California, Arizona, and New Mexico voted to continue their marketing order program.
In a referendum held between Oct. 31 and Nov. 18, 2022, continuance of the marketing order was favored by 95% of producers voting in the referendum, and by 95% of the volume voted in the referendum. For the marketing order to continue, two-thirds or more of producers voting, or producers representing two-thirds or more of the volume voted needed to vote in favor of continuance.
