Brian Kirschenmann is a fifth-generation California potato farmer from a family with over 100 years of history in Bakersfield, California. I am the owner/operator of Kirschenmann Farms, Inc., which specializes in growing chipping potatoes and other rotational crops in and around the Bakersfield area. Between Kirschenmann Farms, Inc and my co-ownership of Allied Potato, Inc., I am currently farming over 17,000 acres annually between Washington, Oregon, California and Colorado supplying chipping potatoes on a year-round basis to customers domestically and internationally. Given the proximity of the farms to the ports (Long Beach, CA and Seattle, WA) and having a year-round supply of chipping potatoes we have grown to be one of the largest exporters of fresh potatoes shipping over 65,000 tons annually overseas. I am currently the Chairperson of the California Potato Research Advisory Board and have served 6 years on the US Potato Board with 3 of those years being on the Executive Committee. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Reed College, Portland, Oregon.
