Molly was raised on a third-generation grain farm in Elkhart, Illinois, and has been involved in various forms of the agriculture industry throughout her life, from large commodity grain production to small direct-market fruit and vegetable production. She holds a B.A. in Spanish Education from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in Communications from Purdue University. She began her work at Illinois Stewardship Alliance in January of 2014. As Communications Director, she is active in the Alliance’s grassroots organizing and policy efforts and maintains website, social media, and newsletter communication with farmers and eaters across the state on important local food policy issues. Molly also manages the Alliance’s local food program efforts. For the past 5 years she has coordinated the Buy Fresh Buy Local Central Illinois chapter, featuring over 130 farms, farmers markets, farm-to-table restaurants, and local food retailers in Central Illinois, and has developed programs and campaigns to drive demand for local food.
