In 2015, the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission appointed Kelly Powell-McIver executive director of the commission. In her previous position, Kelly worked with NCSPC in her role in the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) International Marketing Department where she assisted the NCSPC and other state agriculture groups to open and develop export markets around the world. Kelly supports the work of the commission in planning, executing and evaluating research and educational programs developed to promote and market North Carolina sweet potatoes.
Mrs. Powell-McIver also serves on multiple state and national boards including North Carolina Agriculture Foundation, American Sweet Potato Marketing Institute, United States Sweet Potato Council, North Carolina Ag Alliance, and North Carolina Agribusiness Council.
