K.C. Ely is the Food Safety Manager for FreshPoint Oklahoma and FreshPoint Arkansas, with responsibilities for Food Safety, Preventive Controls, HACCP, Recalls and Regulatory compliance.  Prior to joining FreshPoint, K.C. worked for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an investigator specializing in food processing and food warehouse operations.  K.C. also spent 25 years with the Oklahoma State Department of Health, where he began his food safety career as an inspector and worked his way to Chief of Consumer Protection Division and was directly responsible for various statewide licensure and inspection services consisting of retail and manufactured foods, drugs, cosmetics, barber shops, lodging establishments, public bathing places, alarms, fire extinguishers, tattoo artists and shops, body piercers and facilities, diagnostic X-Ray Machines, bedding and Counselor licensing. 

K.C. holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from University of Central Oklahoma and is also a 2007 graduate of the National Environmental Public Health Institute.  K.C. is credentialed as a Registered Professional Sanitarian and a Registered Environmental Health Specialist.
