John Chandler is a partner in Chandler Farms a family farm located in Selma, California.  Established in 1889, Chandler farms grows: almonds, citrus, peaches, plums, and raisin and wine grapes.

After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, John worked in Washington DC for Congressman Doug Ose before returning to California to help Congressman Devin Nunes’s first campaign for Congress.  Following Nunes’s successful election, John moved to Sacramento as a field representative with the Association of California Water Agencies, working with both urban and rural water agencies on issues important to water users in California. 

Immediately prior to returning to the family farm, John spend almost 8 years working in the California State Senate as the Consultant to the California Senate Committee on Agriculture.  He reviewed and analyzed agriculture related legislation before the California State Senate, as well as provided information to State Senators on any agricultural issue and organized numerous informational hearings on agricultural related issues. 

Since returning to the farm, John has been a graduate of Western Growers Association Young Leaders program, Class #44 of the California Agricultural Leadership Program, and a 2017 Eisenhower Fellow traveling to Chile and Australia to explore water and labor issues.

In his spare time, John is an active volunteer with the California Railroad Museum as both conductor and steam qualified fireman for their excursion railroad.  John is also working to restore a 1926 Ford Model T Truck and a 1928 Essex Touring car.
