The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today published the final rule for Transparency in Poultry Grower Contracting and Tournaments in the Federal Register. The rule, which requires Live Poultry Dealers – typically large processing companies – to give key information about terms of their agreements to the poultry growers with whom they contract to raise birds, is effective Feb. 12, 2024. USDA shared a preview of the final rule on Nov. 8, 2023.
