USDA Temporarily Extends South Carolina Department of Agriculture’s Designation as Provider of Federal Grain Inspection Service

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is temporarily extending the South Carolina Department of Agriculture’s (SCDA) designation as provider of Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) official services for the State of South Carolina, until December 31, 2019. SCDA is currently designated as interim official inspection service provider for the South Carolina area, pending an AMS designation decision for an official service provider.

AMS requires additional time to complete the review and evaluation of information submitted by three applicants: SCDA, North Carolina Department of Agriculture, and D.R. Schaal Agency, Inc. The application period closed July 25, 2019.
