USDA Cheddar Cheese Purchase Program Announced

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase cheddar cheese for surplus removal under Section 32 of the Agriculture Act of 1935. The cheese will be distributed to communities across the country through the USDA Foods nutrition programs.  USDA also announced this purchase in a press release on August 23, 2016.

A solicitation will be issued in the near future. All offers must be submitted electronically through the Web-Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) website at http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome?navid=WBSCM. Offers submitted by any means other than WBSCM will be considered non-responsive.

Offerors are urged to review all documents as they pertain to this program, including the applicable Commodity Specification(s) identified in the subsequent Solicitation(s); and the Qualification Requirements for Prospective Contractors Selling Commodities to USDA dated October 2014.  These documents are available on the AMS Commodity Procurement website at https://www.ams.usda.gov/selling-food.
