2013 Board Nomination

NOP is seeking nominations for an environmentalist/resource conservationist that demonstrates expertise in areas of environmental protection and resource conservation.

The nominee should understand organic principles and have practical experience in the organic community or academia specific to environmental protection and resource conservation. Once appointed, the candidate would fulfill a five-year term beginning January 2013.

When a position becomes vacant, the National Organic Program invites nominations to the NOSB. Applicants may self-nominate or be recommended by other individuals or organizations. If appointed, NOSB members serve five-year terms as dedicated volunteers to developing and making recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture concerning substances allowed or prohibited in organic agriculture and other aspects of the organic regulations. Members serve on 2-3 of the NOSB subcommittees.
