As Director of Compliance for Quality, Food Safety & Organic Integrity at Earthbound Farm, John is responsible for ensuring the organic integrity of all products supplied to and handled by Earthbound Farm, assuring supply chain partnersí compliance with Earthbound Farmís expectations for quality, food safety & organic integrity, and maintaining Earthbound Farmís regulatory compliance and customer expectations.

John holds Bachelorís degrees in Literature and Environmental Studies from the University of California and an Associate in Science degree in Horticulture and Crop Production, and he is certified in Greenhouse Design and Management. John has been a trainer of inspectors for many years, contributed on the Board of Directors for IOIA, OMRI and other industry organizations. John currently also sits on the California Organic Products Advisory Committee (COPAC) as a producer member. He is also trained in ISO 9000 Internal Auditing, Food Science and Technology, Advanced HACCP, and other trade related matters.

John has worked in the organic food and agriculture community for 20 years. Past employment includes Executive Director of Oregon Tilth, Technical Services Director at QAI, professional consulting in organic certification, change management, regulatory compliance, technical review, ISO 65 alignment, and 12 years of organic inspection of crops, livestock, processors, distributors, retailers, and traders in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. He has been a college instructor of Horticulture and Crop Production, and UC Cooperative Extension Research Associate in IPM and biological control of insects, mites, and plant pathogens. Additionally, he was a farming partner is Seven Spoke Farm, in McMinnville, Oregon, directing all crop production, planning, and marketing activities of organic vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, and value-added goods.
