Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town LFPA Plus Executive Summary

Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town’s (AQTT) purpose is to provide the AQTT Tribal enrolled elders (87) and Tribal enrolled children (83) with unprocessed and/or minimally processed food from local Oklahoma ranchers and producers. AQTT’s has an operating Title VI Elder Nutrition Program operating and it consists of AQTT Tribal members over the age of 55. The AQTT child enrollment population will serve children who are 17 years and younger. AQTT will work with local food distributors who have access and transportation means to transport/deliver products grown and produced in Oklahoma by local producers and ranchers within a 400-mile radius. The local food distributors will make weekly fresh food deliveries for AQTT Tribal members participating in the program. AQTT will receive the products in-house, sort, and prepare the food for pick up from the AQTT Levina Beaver Elder Center on a weekly basis. AQTT will have weekly sign-ups for volunteering opportunities to help serve participants. AQTT Title VI Elder Nutrition Program makes daily meal deliveries to homebound elders and will deliver the fresh foods for the elders who are unable to pick up food from the elder center.
