Order Authorities

The marketing order authorizes data collection; research and promotion activities; and regulation of grade, size, quality, pack and containers for pecans. The order went into effect on August 2, 2016. View the full regulationFinal Order and Supporting Information.

  • Quality Regulations: The marketing order authorizes grade, quality, and size regulations to maintain pecan quality shipped to consumers. 
  • Research and Promotion: The marketing order authorizes research and promotion programs. 
  • Pack and Container Requirements: The marketing order authorizes pack and container regulations.  
  • Data Collection:  The Council will develop ways for the industry to collect production and handling data needed to make informed marketing decisions.

Committee Structure

The American Pecan Council will be comprised of six sheller members, nine producer members representing three districts, an accumulator member and a public member. Each member will have one alternate. Initial members and alternates will be nominated to four-year terms. View a list of members and alternates (pdf).
