Meeting Announcement: Advisory Committee on Universal Cotton Standards

Today, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service announced the dates for the Advisory Committee on Universal Cotton Standards (ACUCS). The purpose of the meeting is to make recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture on the establishment, revision or change of the Universal Standards for American Upland Cotton.

The meeting will be held in person in Memphis, Tenn. on the following days:

USDA Establishes Salable Quantities and Allotment Percentages of Scotch and Native Spearmint Oil for the 2024-2025 Marketing Year

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a final rule establishing the quantity of each class of spearmint oil produced in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and parts of Nevada and Utah (Far West) that handlers may purchase from, or handle on behalf of, producers during the 2024-2025 marketing year.

The Grain Inspection Advisory Committee (GIAC) under its MEMBERSHIP BALANCE PLAN, Point 6. Quorum Requirements, The Advisory Committee requires two-thirds of its members to be present in order to hold a meeting.

International Selling food to USDA

The Agricultural Marketing Service partners with the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to supply food to communities across the world through programs such as Food for Peace, Food for Progress, and McGovern-Dole. These food donations help provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to the world’s most vulnerable and hardest to reach people.
