USDA Proposes Amendments to Quality Systems Verification Programs and Conforming Changes

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) proposes to amend regulations in 7 CFR part 62, Quality Systems Verification Programs (QSVP), to clarify that all services under this part are applicable to all commodities covered by the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (Act), as amended.

USDA Withdraws Proposed Amendments to Quality Systems Verification Programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today published a notice in the Federal Register withdrawing the proposed rule to amend 7 CFR parts 56, 62 and 70 (insert link when available). The proposed rule would have amended the Quality Systems Verification Programs (QSVP) by removing the reference to “Livestock, Meat, and Other Commodities” from the regulation title, defining the type of programs and services offered and updating administrative items.

USDA Proposes New Form for Processed Egg Export Verification Program; Invites Public Comments

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) intends to request approval for a new information collection form for the Processed Egg and Egg Products Export Verification (PEEPEV) Program from the Office of Management and Budget.


AMS quality standards, grading, certification, auditing, and inspection are voluntary tools and services that industry can use to help promote and communicate quality and wholesomeness to consumers. These services assist businesses in differentiating themselves from their competition.
