USDA Announces Webinars for AMS Grant Programs and Call for Grant Application Peer Reviewers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced upcoming webinars to share information about its grant application processes. The webinars will provide an overview of program purposes, eligibility, and application requirements and are open to all interested farmers, producer groups, grant applicants and members of the public.

USDA Announces Survey to Evaluate Performance Measures for Grant Programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is conducting a survey for applicants, recipients, and stakeholders to evaluate existing performance measures for its grant programs. The survey, conducted in partnership with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture Foundation and Grant Thornton, will be open March 31 through May 12, 2020.

USDA Announces $37 Million in Grants Available to Local and Regional Food Systems

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service today announced the availability of $37 million in competitive grant funding under the 2018 Farm Bill’s Local Agricultural Marketing Program (LAMP). These grants support the development, coordination and expansion of direct producer-to-consumer marketing, local and regional food markets and enterprises and value-added agricultural products.

USDA Announces $23.5 Million in Grants Awarded to Strengthen Markets for Local and Regional Agricultural Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced $23.5 million in grant funding awarded to increase domestic consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally produced agricultural products, and to develop new market opportunities for farm and ranch operations serving local markets.

The funding, made possible through the Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program, is a component of the Local Agricultural Marketing Program authorized by the 2018 Farm Bill.

USDA Announces $72.4 Million in Grant Funding Awarded to Strengthen the Specialty Crop Industry

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced $72.4 million awarded through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP), authorized by the 2018 Farm Bill, to support farmers growing specialty crops, including fruits, vegetables, tree nuts and nursery crops. SCBGP non-competitively provides grant funding to the departments of agriculture in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced the availability of $23 million in grants to support the development, coordination and expansion of local and regional food markets, enterprises and producer-to-consumer marketing.

This webinar is to help farmers, producer’s groups and other potential applicants to understand the program requirements.
