USDA Files Action Against Fresh Growers Direct in New York for PACA Violations

WASHINGTON, July 6, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has filed an administrative action under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) against Fresh Growers Direct.

The company, operating out of New York, allegedly failed to make full payment to five produce sellers in the amount of $244,508 from August 2015 through June 2016.

USDA Files Action Against Lucas Trading Company LLC in Missouri for PACA Violations

WASHINGTON, July 6, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has filed an administrative action under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) against Lucas Trading Company LLC.

The company, operating out of Missouri, allegedly failed to make full payment to 18 produce sellers in the amount of $656,325 from May 2015 through September 2016.

USDA Restricts PACA Violators in California, Florida and New York from Operating in the Produce Industry

WASHINGTON, June 30, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has imposed sanctions on four produce businesses for failure to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA).

The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry:

USDA Holds Cathy G. Poppell Responsibly Connected to Poppell’s Produce Inc. for PACA Violations

WASHINGTON, June 26, 2017 – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has found Cathy G. Poppell responsibly connected to Poppell’s Produce Inc. in Wayne County, Ga.  Poppell’s Produce Inc. failed to pay 18 of 20 sellers in the total amount of $304,614.  This is a violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA).

USDA Lifts PACA Reparation Sanctions on Texas Produce Business

WASHINGTON, June 09, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that Martinez Fresh Produce LLC satisfied a reparation order issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA).

The Dallas, Texas, company has met its obligations and is now free to operate in the produce industry.  Arturo Martinez Isguerra was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business and may now be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee.
