The deadline to register for an oral comment slot is 11:59 p.m. ET, October 4, 2018.

  • Commenters will be scheduled in the order in which they registered, beginning with the Tuesday, October 16 webinar. I will try to accommodate requests where possible, but may be unable to.
  • In an effort to accommodate the greatest number of people in a limited period of time, commenters are limited to one 3-minute speaking slot per meeting, EITHER during the webinars OR the in-person meeting.

 

Please provide any additional information that will assist me with scheduling. For example, if you are calling into the webinar and live in a different time zone. I will do my best to accommodate requests if possible.

Dates: The Board will receive public comments via webinars on October 16 and 18, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. An in-person meeting will be held October 24-26, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. In-person oral comments will be heard on Wednesday, October 24, and possibly Thursday, October 25, 2018. The deadline to submit written comments and/or sign up for oral comment at either the webinar or face-to-face meeting is 11:59 p.m. ET, October 4, 2018.

Joint Letter to PACA Licensees, Organic Labels Must Be Removed from Fumigated Imports

In a joint letter, linked below, to all Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) licensees, the USDA Fair Trade Practices Program and National Organic Program remind U.S. importers that agricultural products treated with a substance prohibited by the USDA organic regulations, or that undergo ionizing radiation, may not be sold, labeled or represented as organic.
