Pre-Solicitation Announcement for Section 32 Purchase of Dairy Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase $40 million in Cheddar and Process Cheese and $40 million in Butter for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, with the purpose to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced plans to purchase $2.5 million in Asparagus for distribution to various food nutrition assistance programs. Purchases will be made under the authority of Section 32 of the Act of August 24, 1935, with the purpose to encourage the continued domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.

USDA Announces Establishment of the Pecan Promotion, Research and Information Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the establishment of the Pecan Promotion, Research and Information Order to strengthen the position of pecans in the marketplace, maintain and expand markets for pecans, and develop new uses for pecans. A final rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan. 13, 2021, with an effective date of Feb. 12, 2021. Assessment collection will begin Oct. 1, 2021.

AMS Announces 2021 Grain Fees for Official Inspection and Weighing Services

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced the 2021 fee schedule for official inspection and weighing services performed under the United States Grain Standards Act (USGSA), as amended.

The Federal Grain Regulations (7 CFR 800.71(b)) and the Agriculture Reauthorizations Act of 2015 require that the Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) annually review its fees for service, including national and local tonnage fees.
