MD_DA640 Nonfat Dry Milk - Western U.S. Report 38 - Released on September 21, 2023 Both ends of the low/medium nonfat dry milk (NDM) price range and mostly price series moved higher in the West. Loads are available to accommodate spot market purchasers. Domestic demand is steady to moderate. Export demand is more mixed. Demand from Mexican purchasers is noted as steadily active from some stakeholders, while others note the demand as more inconsistent and quieter during Q3. Although a few areas have slightly looser milk supplies this week, low/medium heat NDM production is lower as seasonal milk output reductions are at hand. High heat NDM prices moved slightly higher on the bottom end of the range. Some manufacturers report light intermittent high heat NDM production schedules planed for the remainder of the year. That said, steadier production schedules are noted from other manufacturers. High heat NDM demand is steady to moderate.
