     Prices for European skim milk powder (SMP) are trending higher. Some industry contacts
     suggest that inventories are readily available to meet immediate needs, but stock numbers
     are decreasing. Demand has picked up recently, as buyers are more willing to make deals at
     current prices, especially for near-term deliveries. A few market analysts think that
     bargain shoppers may have held out too long for lower prices, and now, prices are rising.
     However, shoppers are still cagey about making longer-term commitments. There are
     uncertainties about milk supply and demand that keep end users from pursuing offers beyond Q
     1 2024.
