Feeder heifers weighing 450- 500 lbs sold with a higher undertone on a light test with last week, 500- 700 lb heifers sold steady with heifers over 700 lbs selling with a lower undertone. Demand remains good for feeders going to grass with heavier weights demand light to moderate with supply moderate. After last week’s downward reversal in the futures contracts cattle buyers were more cautious towards buying heavier weight cattle. Slaughter cows accounted for 7 percent of the total receipts and sold steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder cattle consisted of 55 percent steers, 45 percent heifers and 49 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
