Grades of Seed Potatoes

  1. U.S. No. 1 Seed Potatoes consist of unwashed potatoes identified as certified seed by the state of origin by blue tags fixed to the containers or official State or Federal State certificates accompanying bulk loads, which identify the variety, size, class, crop year, and grower or shipper of the potatoes, and the State certification agency.

Canned White Potatoes Grades and Standards

  1. U.S. Grade A is the quality of canned white potatoes that meets the applicable requirements of Tables III through VII and scores not less than 90 points.
  2. U.S. Grade B is the quality of canned white potatoes that meets the applicable requirements of Table III through VII and scores not less than 80 points.
  3. Substandard is the quality of canned white potatoes that fails to meet the requirements for U.S.
