National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) Meeting - Pittsburgh, PA

The NOSB will meet to discuss substances petitioned for addition to or deletion from the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List), substances due to sunset from the National List in 2021, and discussion documents and proposals on organic policies.

The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) typically meets twice per year in various locations around the United States. During meetings, the NOSB listens to public comments, discusses agenda items, and then votes on proposals to the Secretary in a public forum. Detailed meeting information, including agendas, locations, proposals, and public comments will be posted below as materials become available. Public Comment

The docket for this meeting is now open. The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) invites public comment on agenda topics in writing, in-person at the Fall 2019 business meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or during one of the webinars leading up to the meeting. The comment period will close October 3, 2019. Please note: In order to be considered during the Fall 2019 meeting, written public comments or requests for oral comment speaking slots must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, October 3, 2019.

Written Comments
Please submit feedback on the NOSB Subcommittees’ proposals via Regulations.gov. (Docket # AMS-NOP-19-0038). A detailed agenda, along with the proposals, will be available approximately 6 weeks before the meeting and will be linked above. The deadline to submit written comments is 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time October 3, 2019.

Oral Comments
Oral comment registration is now open. The Board will hear oral comments during the following times:

    • October 15 & 17, 2019, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Eastern (3-minute comment slot)
  • In-person meeting
    • Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24, 2019 (3-minute comment slot)
